Current

Chart customization

  • The eighth candle colour preset is yours. Set the bullish, bearish and border colours with the pickers, then Save colors as preset fills the last slot with them; choose it later to bring the look back. Until it is saved the slot shows a faded preview of the current colours and cannot be chosen. The preset is kept with your account, so it is there on every machine you sign in on. The stock preset that used to sit in that slot is gone.
  • Persistent now covers tools and studies. With Settings > Canvas > Chart customization on Persistent, the colour, thickness, fill, levels and other settings you last gave each kind of drawing, and the settings of each kind of study, come back after you clear the board or start a new one. Defaults gives every new board stock tools and studies, as it does candles. Inside an assignment whose educator enforces their branding or candle style, the educator's look applies and your own memory is set aside until you leave. Persistent is a Pro and Educator feature; an account without it is returned to Defaults.

Risk/Reward tool

  • The ratio pill can be hidden. A Show R:R switch in the tool's properties takes the 1:2 pill off the entry line, for a chart where the boxes say enough. On by default, and the next Risk/Reward you insert follows the last one's choice, as it does for size and direction.
  • Each box takes its own colour. Reward and Risk colour pickers sit in the tool's properties, the way the candle colours do; the fill, the resolved part and the border all follow the colour you pick, and each has a reset back to the default. A Show border switch takes the outlines off. All of it is remembered for the next one you insert.

The site

  • The front page's tab reads "Candlestick Chart Maker & Drawing Tool". The same words appear when the link is shared.

Drawing candles

  • Wicks are drawn rather than invented. Drag past where the candle will close and the overshoot becomes its wick, where lengths used to be rolled at random as you dragged.
  • A clicked candle arrives plain: one body, no wicks, and the same height every time rather than a random one.
  • A run of clicked candles offers the drag. Click a third candle into place without dragging and a note at the top of the canvas mentions, once, that a drag sizes the candle and pulls its wicks out.

Fixes

  • The Long and Short buttons match the panel's other choices in size and style, where they used to be a step larger than everything around them.
  • A page opened from a link starts at its top. Following any link in the footer, or in the header, used to land on the new page at the same scroll depth as the one you left, so a guide opened from the bottom of a page arrived at its own bottom. Back and forward still return you to where you were.
  • A candle's wick handles stay clear of its body. Pulling a wick all the way in used to leave its handle buried under the body's, with nothing left to take hold of to pull the wick back out.
  • The faded preview behind a start point fades evenly. While a start point is being placed, the wick used to show through each faded body at twice the weight of the wick outside it; the whole candle now fades as one.
  • A drawing carried into the comparison pane keeps the line weight it was drawn at. A box or a trend line used to come out thicker or thinner in the second pane whenever that pane sat at a different timeframe.

Launch: the public site goes out, and Pro becomes a plan you can buy rather than compare.

Signing in

  • The sign-in dialog is bigger, and a reset link is confirmed with the same sentence whatever you typed: if an account with that address exists, a link has been sent.
  • Creating an account finishes cleanly. The form gives way to the "check your email" message, and every required field carries a red asterisk.
  • An affiliate code can be typed at sign-up, for a student whose educator gave them a code rather than a link. They join the class once the confirmation link is opened.

Choosing a plan

  • Pro is on sale. Educator is not yet: it stays in beta while cohorts and assignments are finished, and its card says so instead of offering a checkout. Accounts that already have it keep everything it does.
  • The plan chooser and your account page show the real plan cards, the same three as the pricing page with the monthly/annual switch, so a plan is described the same way everywhere and an upgrade shows its price.
  • The Pro offer comes back now and then on Free, roughly monthly. Every way of closing it counts as an answer, so it does not reappear on the next open.

Setting up a chart

  • Menus show what your plan includes. The right-click menu lists only the rows your plan carries, and the Tools menu greys out the rest: they cannot be added, and ones already on your rail stay removable. Magnet snapping sits under Editing.
  • Pro and Educator start with horizontal line, highlighter and callout on the rail, unless you have arranged your own.
  • Canvas colour pickers all offer a reset, and the candle count in Generate chart can be cleared and retyped.
  • Importing OHLC data explains itself: where to get a file, and that it brings real prices in order, and real volume where the file has it.

Reading the chart

  • Split view compares one chart at two timeframes, side by side. Compare, in the timeframe tile, opens a second read-only pane of the same candles at a rung you pick, with its own rulers and zoom; both scroll through time together, and your drawings carry across. Pro and Educator.

Drawing and annotating

  • A tool stays in hand. Candle and the drawing tools stay active after each shape, and Escape puts the tool down; holding Ctrl is no longer needed. Text, callouts and a copied bars pattern still hand back to Select.
  • Brush strokes join only with the magnet on. With it off, two strokes that meet stay two.
  • Default-coloured ink follows the canvas theme, existing drawings included; colours you picked yourself stay as picked.
  • The pattern tools complete: ABCD, XABCD, the Elliott counts, head and shoulders, triangle, three drives and projection finish by mouse and keyboard instead of dropping mid-placement.
  • A checklist joins the annotations: a titled card of check-off items with sub-steps, in your own size and colour. Pro and Educator.

Replaying a chart

  • The player opens ready to play. The run starts at the first candle and Play is the next thing you press; source and candle count sit behind Settings on the player bar, which opens over the player.
  • The start point is chosen from the player bar, with a signpost control beside the sliders: press on the chart and drag, or click, and nudge it afterwards. While you place it the bar offers Confirm, Start at the beginning, and Cancel.
  • The start line clears once confirmed, leaving the chart plain; the bar still says which candle the run begins at.
  • A replay can be recorded to video, background, studies and drawings included. Pro and Educator.

Exporting

  • Exported pictures carry the watermark again, centred and spanning most of the picture's width, on a download and on a copy to clipboard alike. It had been painted off the top edge of most charts.

The top bar

  • Projects moved beside the app name as a grid icon, with categories collapsed behind a counted heading. How to use moved into the profile menu, below Support.

The public pages

  • Every public page arrives with its text already on it, readable straight away on a slow connection and by search engines, and about a third lighter: the drawing engine is no longer sent to pages without a chart.
  • A mistyped address says so on arrival instead of showing a blank page first.
  • Five guides, linked from the footer: what a candlestick chart is, how to draw one, what changes in forex, teaching with CandleDraw, and a blank chart template. The first three are written for someone who has not met candles before, so an educator can send them to a student.
  • A FAQ page (/faq) says what CandleDraw is and isn't, whether it is free, and that forex, stocks, indices, futures and crypto all draw the same way; cancelling keeps everything stored, and a student never needs Pro to join a cohort.
  • Coming back to a page on a phone no longer leaves it misplaced: the site scrolls normally, so the address bar can come and go.
  • Dark mode matches the canvas on every page, and the tour's demonstrations were re-recorded in dark.
  • CandleDraw has its mark: a candle drawn as a pencil, beside the name and in the tab and home-screen icons. Every tab leads with the page name.
  • Every page states its position in the footer: a drawing and teaching tool, illustrations only, not advice. The legal pages, changelog and plan comparison use smaller, easier-to-read type, and the privacy notice ends with a contact section.
  • The front page shows the journal twice, screenshot beside CandleDraw export, and a shared link unfurls with a real chart of EUR/USD hours.
  • Refund terms are plainer and more generous. Fourteen days to change your mind, refunded in full; an annual plan that has already renewed can be ended within a month with the unused part refunded.
  • The Terms open by saying what CandleDraw is: a drawing tool with no market feed, no orders and no signals, sold as software rather than education, affiliated with no broker, exchange or trading service.
  • The Terms also add a way to report infringing or unlawful content, that a consumer is only ever sued in their own country, and that saved projects cannot be opened on Free once a paid plan ends.

Teaching

  • Assignments load again for students in a class. A student added to a cohort saw "Assignments could not be loaded" instead of their work.
  • Assignments are authored on the canvas: draw the finished chart, mark what the student must produce (hidden until reveal), then name it and choose the reveal. Drafts land unassigned in Build, your own chart returns untouched, and a session survives a reload.
  • Homework lends its tools: whatever the marked work uses is available to the student inside the assignment, on any plan and outside their own limits.
  • You choose when the solution shows: after submission, after review, or never. Revealing on submission makes a submission final.
  • Feedback can be drawn on a submission, saved to it and reopened editable; saving with nothing drawn clears it.
  • Unassigned assignments can be deleted, with a confirmation counting their submissions, and lists show a chart thumbnail.
  • Assignment branding is set with toggles, now including candle style and the canvas look, each switching between App default and your own.
  • The affiliate program opens with an agreement to accept before your link and referred students appear. More hub sections fold away: branding, assignment lists, the curriculum tree, unplaced students and the earnings ledger.
  • Assignments and submissions keep the timeframe they were drawn at, instead of reaching students and review as hourly.
  • A data processing agreement for educators (/dpa), linked from the footer and both legal pages: what happens to your students' data, on whose instructions, and what to expect when a parent, a student or a regulator asks.

Studies became a full library, footprints grew into a chart-wide view, and accounts became safer to share, downgrade and delete.

Studies

  • Around forty studies added across trend, momentum, volatility, bands and volume, including Ichimoku, SuperTrend, Keltner Channels, Pivot Points, Stochastic and Rolling VWAP. The panel is searchable and sortable, and a study is selected by clicking its line on the chart.
  • Studies combine: stack moving averages without overlap, choose any study's price source or feed one study into another, and share a pane between compatible studies with crosshair values.
  • Higher-timeframe candles, RSI and MACD divergence, nine candle patterns and pivot zones add measured signals without inventing data. Anchored VWAP and pattern detection moved into Studies, leaving candle Properties to candle settings.

Reading a candle's footprint

  • Footprint reads a whole candle layer in one click, widening candles so levels, busiest level and delta stay legible. Choose Bid × Ask, Delta or Total, candles inside or beside the numbers, and mark imbalances at your own threshold. Levels share one price grid, and values remain estimates: CandleDraw has no per-trade order-flow data.

Reading the chart

  • Logarithmic and percentage price scales, and Heikin-Ashi, Renko and range bars, join Candles, Bars and Line as non-destructive views. Renko and range bars draw one glyph per price move, so the timeframe strip greys out while one is on.
  • The timeframe strip is now a setting, off by default, since a hand-drawn chart has one timeframe.

On the canvas

  • New drawing tools: ABCD and XABCD harmonics, head and shoulders, triangles and three drives built from placed pivots, trend angle, regression channel, projection, bars pattern, and Elliott impulse and corrective waves with conventional degrees and rule-break detection.
  • Pitchfork variants, Fibonacci extensions and price-aware measurement; the Fibonacci projects a next leg from a third anchor and reads either way round with Invert levels.
  • Tapping the tool you're holding puts it down, and right-click toggles the grid, rulers, timeframe strip, crosshair and magnet without opening settings.
  • Select several annotations by box or Shift-click, then move, style, copy, delete, align or distribute them as one undoable action. Lock or hide drawings singly or together, and limit any to specific timeframes.
  • Shapes can carry captions, and copy, paste and duplicate preserve complete candle series and multi-band tools.

Generating a chart, and converting a drawing

  • Generated charts support trend, volatility and up to 1,000 candles, and clear the canvas only after confirmation; Undo restores the previous chart.
  • Convert to Candles creates more natural pullbacks and wicks, with a variation control, and appears only for strokes that resemble charts.

The Education Hub

  • The hub follows the teaching workflow: Welcome, Affiliate program, Cohorts, Build, Link and Review, linked by a visual map. Assignments arrange into curriculum sections, and sections release to cohorts from one view.
  • Review one assignment across a whole cohort, outstanding work first, and duplicate assignments or sections without changing the original.
  • Cohort management shows released-section counts, unassigned students and referral dates, with controls for placing or unlinking students.
  • Hidden solution candles stay off the student's device until submission, and assignment branding can be customised before release; the student's own settings return when the assignment closes.

Saving, accounts and plans

  • Toolbar and quick-menu preferences follow your account across devices.
  • Sign-up and sign-in are separate, protected flows: email sign-up collects your name and password and checks for automated or disposable accounts. Passwords, passkeys and connected sign-ins are managed from Authentication in Profile.
  • New accounts choose a plan before drawing, with Free always available and no expiry.
  • Shared browsers keep each account's drawings separate: sign-out finishes pending saves, clears the local copy and opens a fresh canvas.
  • Download your account data or delete a Free account from Advanced in Profile; paid accounts are directed to cancel first.
  • Plan limits now match the product: Pro allows 1,440 candles, 20 layers and 100 projects; Educator 2,880, 50 and 300. A canvas over its plan's limit opens read-only, viewable and exportable, instead of losing work.
  • Paid plans never fall back to a CandleDraw watermark; an unavailable custom logo is kept and returns with the plan.

Settings

  • Choose System, Light or Dark, with System following the device. The grid is on by default and can be restyled or turned off in Canvas settings, and interface or Canvas settings can be reset alone without touching the drawing.
  • Export opens on the full chart, transparent, at 1×, opaque on plans without transparent export.

The public site

  • The public pages are reworked: the front page says who CandleDraw is for, the tour shows the app and opens with a brush-to-candles demonstration, and pricing pairs short plan profiles with one sticky comparison table.
  • Public pages share the canvas theme preference, and the release history is at /changelog without an account.

Fixed

  • The top bar is one row on a phone, export and account only, the rest in a menu. Touch is more reliable, and mobile layouts no longer clip menus, toolbars, tabs, study names or announcements.
  • Canvas editing respects zoom and selection: erasing, shape resizing, handle size, stuck cursors, leftover fills and stray candle lines are fixed.
  • Line opacity is separate from fill, new rectangles use a 1px outline, Fit to screen frames the whole drawing without squeezing candles thin, and very large charts export at reduced resolution instead of an empty file.
  • Heikin-Ashi stays chosen as the default chart type across reloads, plan tags mark only what you can't use yet, and Pro-only tools are consistently gated.
  • Educator referrals and student codes link correctly, duplicated assignment candles stay editable, tables keep their headings visible, and long charts pan, draw and load more smoothly.

The release that took CandleDraw from a drawing tool to a product: accounts, subscriptions, cloud-saved projects, a teaching hub, and a chart that can be read at more than one timeframe.

Multi-timeframe

  • View any candle group at any rung, M1 through W1. Rolling up is exact and switching back down returns what you started with; the strip discloses when a view is decomposed, since that is informed invention rather than recovered history.
  • Every timeframe has its own candle shape, measured from real EUR/USD data, so generated and decomposed candles look like the rung they are on. Generating a chart lets you pick the timeframe it is drawn at.

Candle Player

  • Replay a chart candle by candle, starting partway through by dragging a guide, with setup and transport in separate panels. Speeds reach 16x.
  • A forming candle is built out of the timeframe below it, so switching down mid-replay shows those candles opening one at a time.

Accounts, plans and projects

  • Sign in with email and password, a magic link, or Google, and subscribe monthly or annually with a clear view of what each plan gains or loses.
  • Named projects for Pro and Educator, syncing to the cloud; the newer copy wins if you edit on two devices.
  • A referral is still credited after the referrer's link has expired, and a scheduled cancellation can no longer be cleared by accident.

Teaching

  • Education Hub: curriculum sections released in sequence and approved as students progress, cohorts with join links, and a homework hub where students open, work and submit assignments, with an educator's own self-test.
  • Educators can hide part of a chart until submission by placing a reveal boundary, and lend their branding (watermark, app title, subtitle, accent colour) to assignment work, each opted in separately.
  • Students are identified by a short code, not a raw account id.

Drawing, studies and export

  • New studies: VWMA, Donchian Channels, ATR, Volume Profile, Anchored VWAP and Footprint, from a Studies flyout. Volume studies estimate from candles on charts without volume data, always labelled simulated.
  • Multi-anchor drawing tools and pattern analysis, plus a quick-tool radial menu; horizontal and vertical lines now place a level across the chart instead of a segment.
  • Import OHLC data from CSV; export as CSV, JSON or an image, whole chart or a cropped region.

Canvas and interface

  • The canvas background is configurable per theme, with the grid's colour and visibility, and edge rulers can be switched off.
  • The canvas right-click menu offers reachable settings instead of the browser's own, and the tool rail can be arranged to suit how you work.
  • Interactive onboarding for new users, collapsible settings sections, and a scroll-back arrow when you have panned away from your chart.

Public site

  • Draft Product Tour and Pricing pages, Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, and shared links with a preview card.

Fixed

  • The watermark no longer resizes with zoom, rulers and timeframe switches no longer thicken wicks, and Fibonacci labels stay on their lines.
  • Announcements stop at their end date, and a rendering error shows a recoverable state instead of a blank page.
  • Cloud sync reports failures instead of failing silently, and the last edit is saved on the way out.
  • A replay started partway through no longer snaps back to its start point on the last candle.
  • The empty column beside Properties no longer swallows canvas drags, middle-click no longer changes selection, and dialogs open with focus on the dialog rather than its close button.

Security

  • Security headers are served, two exposed endpoints and a storage misconfiguration were closed, and the support form's bot check was restored.

  • The active tool stays highlighted while hovered or after a tap, a restored project opens centred, line charts start at the first candle's open, and candle spacing holds steady when the width changes.
