Shared drawing settings

Select a drawing to edit it in the Properties panel. Lines, shapes and most drawings share these settings; each field has a reset button that returns it to its default.

Line color

The stroke color: pick from the preset swatches, the color picker, or the row of your last eight picked colors under the field.

Line thickness (px)

How thick the stroke is. The brush and highlighter call it Brush thickness and Highlighter thickness.

Line style

Solid, Dashed, Dotted, Dash-dot or Long dash.

Line opacity

How see-through the stroke is, from fully see-through to solid.

Fill opacity

For filled shapes: how strongly the inside is tinted.

Caption

For filled shapes: a short text shown on the shape. Leave it empty for none.

Every drawing also has:

Show at timeframes

Limits a drawing to a range of timeframes, from one rung to another, so it only shows while the chart is viewed at those.

Set as default

New drawings of this kind start with the selected one's settings.

Clear custom default

Shown when a custom default exists. New drawings of this kind go back to the built-in settings; the selected one keeps its own.

Selects, moves and edits what is on the canvas. It is the tool the canvas returns to.

Click a drawing or a candle to select it; its settings open in Properties. Shift-click adds to the selection or removes from it. Drag a selection to move it. Click empty canvas to clear the selection, or drag it to pan.

Several selected drawings share one Properties section: a color, line thickness and line opacity for all of them, Group and Ungroup, Align (left, center, right, top, middle, bottom) and Distribute (horizontally or vertically), and one Delete for all.

ShiftClicking a drawing

Adds it to the selection, or removes it when it is already selected.

Candles are selected like drawings. A selected candle opens Candle settings in Properties and outlines its whole candle layer.

Selects several drawings at once with a box.

Drag a box over the canvas. Every drawing it touches is selected; candles are left out. Hold Shift while you start the box to add to the current selection.

The selection moves, copies, duplicates and deletes as one, and shares one Properties section, as with Select.

ShiftStarting the box

Adds what the box touches to the current selection instead of replacing it.

Draws candles one at a time into a candle layer.

Press beside the candles and drag. A press right of a layer's middle adds a candle after its last one, opening at that candle's close; a press left of the middle adds one before its first. Drag up or down to set the body, and past the close to pull out a wick. A click with no drag draws a fixed-height body with no wicks. With no layer active, a press away from other candles starts a new layer.

A selected candle has four dots: the high and low wick tips and the two body edges. Dragging the close edge also moves the next candle's open, so the run stays joined. A selected candle also outlines its layer with a grip that moves the whole layer, and the drawings inside the outline, in one undo step. The prices move with it; the price scale does not.

Chart type

Draws the layer as candles, bars, a line, Heikin-Ashi, renko or range bars. The stored candles do not change.

Candle width

How wide the candles are drawn, for the whole layer.

Wick thickness

The width of the wicks, 1 to 10 px.

Show wicks

Hides or shows the wicks.

Color presets

Ready-made rising and falling color pairs. Save colors as preset keeps the current colors in the last slot.

Bullish color

The body color of rising candles. On a line chart this is the line color.

Bearish color

The body color of falling candles.

Bullish border/wick color

The outline and wick color of rising candles.

Bearish border/wick color

The outline and wick color of falling candles.

Price scale

Linear or Log. Log re-places the candles on a logarithmic scale; prices do not change, and switching back is exact.

Prices read as

Price or Percent. Percent labels levels as a change from the layer's first candle.

Data timeframe

The timeframe the stored candles are. The timeframe strip derives the other timeframes from it.

Moves the whole layer 10 px instead of 1 px.

Lock a candle layer from its row in Layers: its candles cannot be moved, resized or deleted, and no new candles are drawn into it. Colors can still change.

Draws projected candles into the selected layer, in a fainter style, to show what could happen next.

Choose Shadow candle under Draw candle, or press X, then draw as with Draw candle. The candles join the layer of the selected candle.

Shadow candles have the same dots as candles. They sit in their own sub-layer under the candle layer in Layers, with its own visibility, lock, name and delete.

Opacity

How faint the shadow candles are.

Fill the body

Fills the body, or leaves only its outline.

Outline

Solid, Dashed, Dotted or None.

Show wicks

Hides or shows the wicks.

A change applies to every shadow candle in the layer, and to the next shadow candle drawn in any layer.

Studies, replay and CSV export leave shadow candles out. After the last real candle they continue the series at the timeframe on screen.

Generates a whole candle chart from market statistics, shaped for the timeframe you choose.

Open Generate chart on the rail, or press G. Set the options and choose Generate. If the canvas already has candles, the popover says the new chart replaces them, and a dialog asks before it does; undo brings them back.

Number of candles

How many candles to generate: from 1 up to 1000, or your plan's limit when it is lower. Type a number or use the slider.

Timeframe

The timeframe the candles are shaped for, from M1 to W1.

Trend

The overall direction, from Down 100% through None to Up 100%.

Volatility

How large the moves are, from 0.25x to 3x.

Modifier keys

No modifier keys.

A straight line between two points, for a trend line or a level between two touches.

Drag from the first point to the second. Hold Shift to keep the line level.

Drag either end to move that point, or the line to move it whole.

Extend before start anchor

Continues the line past its first point to the edge of the canvas.

Extend after end anchor

Continues the line past its last point to the edge of the canvas.

Click at the price where the level goes. Keep the button down and move to slide it before you release.

Drag it up or down to move it. It has no ends to extend, so the extension settings do not show.

A vertical line across the whole canvas, to mark a moment in time.

Click at the time where the line goes. Keep the button down and move to slide it before you release.

Drag it sideways to move it.

A line that starts at one point and runs on past the second to the edge of the canvas.

Drag from the start point in the direction the ray runs. Hold Shift to keep it level.

Drag either point to change the direction, or the line to move it. A ray is a line with Extend after end anchor on; turning it off, or Extend before start anchor on, changes how far it runs.

Extend before start anchor

Continues the line past its first point to the edge of the canvas.

Extend after end anchor

Continues the line past its last point to the edge of the canvas.

Two parallel lines that frame a trend, with an optional line halfway.

Drag the baseline from its first point to its second. Then move the pointer to set the channel's width and click to finish, or press Enter.

Drag any point to move it, or drag a line to move the whole drawing. Enter on a selected channel edits its points with the keyboard.

Extend before start anchor

Continues the line past its first point to the edge of the canvas.

Extend after end anchor

Continues the line past its last point to the edge of the canvas.

Channel fill

How strongly the inside of the channel is tinted.

Show center line

Draws a dashed line halfway between the two.

Reading

Andrews, Schiff or Mod. Schiff: where the median line starts.

Extend rays to canvas edge

Runs the lines on to the edge of the canvas.

Parallel levels

Extra parallels at set fractions of the width. Each can be turned off, changed or removed; Add puts in another.

Degree

The wave degree, from Supercycle to Minuette, which sets how the waves are labeled. New counts start at the last degree used.

Check the three rules

Marks the count when it breaks a rule: wave 2 holds the start of wave 1, wave 3 is not the shortest, wave 4 stays clear of wave 1. Properties states the verdict either way.

Copies a run of candles as a stamp that can be placed and scaled elsewhere.

Drag across the candles to copy. The copy is selected and the tool returns to Select.

Drag the copy where you want it, and drag its corner to rescale it. It keeps the chart type of the candles it copied.

How many standard deviations the band spans each side of the line.

A projected move from the end of a real one, marked as a projection.

Drag across the move you are projecting from. The projection starts as the same move again; move the pointer to where it ends and click, or press Enter.

Drag any point to move it, or drag a line to move the whole drawing. The badge shows the projection as a multiple of the base move, how many bars ahead it runs, and its price change.

Properties notes that a projection is drawn, not derived: nothing on the chart predicts it.

Measures the distance between two points in candles, percent and price.

Drag from one point to the other. With a candle layer active, it measures against that layer.

Candle count

Shows how many candles the range covers.

Relative move

Shows the move as a percentage.

Price move

Shows the move in price. Needs a layer with a price scale.

Levels (%)

The levels drawn. Each can be turned off, changed or removed, and Add puts in another. The 0 and 100 lines can be turned off too.

Extension levels

Adds the levels past the 100 anchor.

Trend-based extension

Adds a third anchor and projects the A to B move from it.

Invert levels

Measures the levels from the other end, or mirrors an extension about C.

Text size (px)

The size of the level labels.

Text alignment

Left, center or right for the level labels.

A rectangle, for a zone or a range.

Drag from one corner to the other. Hold Shift to keep it square on screen. A rectangle drawn over candles takes its color from the price action around it; change it in Properties.

Drag a corner or an edge handle to resize it. Hold Shift while dragging a corner to keep its proportions.

A path of straight segments through as many points as you click.

Click each point in turn. Double-click (double-tap on a phone) or press Enter to finish; it needs at least two points. Escape cancels it.

Close path

Joins the last point back to the first.

Text on the canvas.

Click where the text goes and type. Click outside the text, or press Escape, to finish. Text left empty is removed.

With Select, click the text to edit it again, or drag it to move it.

Font family

The typeface, from the bar above the text while you type.

Font size

The text size, from the same bar.

Text color

The text color.

Bold

Bold, Italic, Underline and Strikethrough apply to the whole text.

Insert emoji

Opens the emoji menu, which includes a row of currency signs.

Adds it to the selection without opening the text for editing.

Text in a box with a pointer to a spot on the chart.

Press on the spot to point at, drag to where the box goes, and release. Type the text; click outside or press Escape to finish.

Double-click the box to edit the text. Drag the box or the pointer's tip separately; while editing, the corner handle resizes the box. Enter on a selected callout moves its points with the keyboard.

Font family

The typeface, from the bar above the text while you type.

Font size

The text size, from the same bar.

Text color

The text color.

Bold

Buy and sell arrows, flags and numbered pins, attached to candles.

Click a candle. The marker attaches to the end nearer the click, high or low, and moves with the candle. On a high it starts as a sell arrow, on a low as a buy arrow; after a flag or a pin, the next marker is a flag or pin too. Pins number themselves.

Drag it to another candle, or change where it sits in Properties.

Marker

Buy arrow, Sell arrow, Flag or Numbered pin.

Sits on

The candle's High, its Low, or Free (it stays where it is).

Text

A short label beside the marker. A pin shows its number.

Between candles, turns magnet snapping of the click point off, or on. On a candle the marker attaches to its high or low either way.

Free drawing. A zig-zag drawn with it can be turned into candles.

Drag to draw. When a stroke reads as a price path (a zig-zag of up and down legs), a Convert to Candles button appears over it.

Convert to Candles turns each leg into candles in a new layer and shows two sliders over them.

Amount of candles

How many candles each leg becomes, 2x to 10x.

How much the candles inside a leg wander on the way to its end.

With the magnet on, a stroke that ends near another stroke's end joins it; holding Ctrl or Cmd keeps them apart. With the magnet off, holding it joins them.

A long or short trade box with entry, stop and target.

Open Risk/Reward on the rail, or press K, and choose Long or Short. The box appears in the middle of the view and the tool returns to Select.

Drag the top and bottom edges to set the target and the stop, the right edge to set how far it runs, and the box to move the entry.

Trade direction

Long or short.

The ratio, from 1:0.1 to 1:20. Changing it moves the target.

Shows or hides the ratio label.

Show Win/Loss visual

Shades the outcome from the candles: the trade starts when a candle reaches the entry, and the first box edge reached after that decides it. When one candle reaches both, the stop counts first.

Show border

Draws a border around the zones.

Risk color

The color of the stop zone.

Reward color

The color of the target zone.

Volume traded at each price over a range of candles, as bars from the side.

Choose Volume Profile in the Studies dialog. Then drag across the candles it covers.

Maximum width (%)

How wide the longest bar is, as a share of the range.

Value area (%)

The share of the volume the value area holds.

How many rows in a row make a stack.

Shows the difference between buying and selling per candle.
